Andrew's Journal Day 7 (May 5, 2009)

We wake up early today to catch the Matattoo (a van-like taxi) at 7 AM.  The matattoo is meant to fit around 12 but we count no less than 28 passengers jammed in.  Desperate for money, the owners herd more and more people in (one man climbs through a side window to fit.)  As we arrived in Mbale my entire body was sore from the awkward positioning in the matattoo.  After running our errands in town, we head back on another matattoo, which must have been at least 100 degrees on the inside but it was much more roomy (only about 8 over capacity.)  When we arrive home we play with the local kids, blowing up balloons for all of them.  Then I helped Mary get dinner ready for everyone (including Henry’s family, who joined us today.)  After dinner we played with Henry’s little boy (Moses), who is extremely cute.  After we showed him a few toys we went to bed.
